La pubblicazione dell'Epistolario di Urbano Rattazzi, come ricorda Giuseppe Talamo nella Presentazione del quantity, è stata l'ultima preoccupazione di Carlo Pischedda che l'ha ideato e impostato mentre ancora attendeva alla cura dell'Epistolario di Cavour, avvertendo los angeles necessità di seguire parallelamente l. a. figura di chi, come Rattazzi, period stato legato, according to tanti motivi, fino alla conclusione del movimento unitario, alla politica del conte. L'Istituto consistent with l. a. Storia del Risorgimento Italiano ha voluto mantenere l'impegno dello studioso e dell'Istituto stesso mandando ora alle stampe il primo dei tre volumi previsti, affidandolo alle remedy di Rosanna Roccia, le cui qualità di studiosa e le cui capacità realizzatrici si sono già ampiamente manifestate in numerose opere e soprattutto nell'edizione dell'Epistolario cavouriano, in collaborazione con Pischedda e poi da sola. Il corpus degli autografi rattazziani, raccolto, selezionato e ordinato da Pischedda in lunghi anni di studio e difficoltosa ricerca, integrato con alcuni ritrovamenti recenti, pur se lacunoso e discontinuo, consente una migliore conoscenza sia di Rattazzi sia di diversi suoi corrispondenti, anche attraverso i laboriosi intrecci tessuti dalla curatrice con altre testimonianze disponibili e con los angeles corrispondenza d'ufficio.
